Reading the website
Google Analytics can be enabled by the editor. When enabled, it loads only after you accept analytics. You can decline or change your choice through Analytics preferences in the footer. Analytics is excluded from CMS, API and authentication pages; advertising signals are disabled, and our events omit query strings and fragments. Browser privacy signals also keep tracking off. Hosting and authentication services may process technical request information to deliver the site and manage access.
What our analytics measures
After consent, our custom events can measure public page visits, reading progress and visible reading time, clicks to external sources, supported document downloads, search-length ranges, use of the process finder and ownership calculator, catalogue interactions and general error categories. They do not include your search words, form contents, calculator amounts, email address, full outbound URLs or error messages and stacks. We do not use session recordings or fingerprinting. Referring sites are reduced to their origin rather than a full referring page address.
Editorial access
The CMS requires secure account sign-in. The server checks the editor’s identity before allowing changes. Articles, settings, revisions and uploaded media are held in the site’s hosted storage. Drafts are excluded from public article listings and the sitemap.
Backups and storage
Site records and uploaded files use Cloudflare storage encryption. CMS backup snapshots are additionally encrypted with a server-held key, retained for 30 days and accessible through protected editorial operations. A local preference stores your analytics choice for up to 180 days. Analytics cookies may be set after consent; Google Analytics controls its processing under its own terms. Withdrawing consent disables collection and clears the first-party Google Analytics cookies available to this website.
Uploaded content
Images used in published articles can be delivered to readers. Editors should upload material they have permission to publish and avoid private or sensitive information.
External resources
Links to technical sources take you to external websites, which have their own privacy practices. Authentication cookies and access controls are managed by the hosting platform.
